I’m Avery, a 16-year-old watercolor artist living in the coastal town of Monterey, California. As a young artist striving to grow my business, I look to the beauty of Carmel’s coast for inspiration, letting my creative mind run free.

A lifelong Californian gal who has lived on the Monterey Peninsula for the last seven years, I cannot think of a more stunning and inspiring place. It’s hard not to reach for my palette and paintbrush every time I step outside as there is a gorgeous scene to paint everywhere I turn.

For me, watercolor is all about the balance between controlling my paint strokes and the “happy accidents” that surprise me along the way—letting the paint flow, watching where the water takes it, and finding beauty in the things I can’t control. With the outdoors of California as my studio, it’s my favorite place to be, and I create my paintings in order to share that beauty with you!
